- "Mr Testicles" Solicits Help From Pixar
This morning the Emeryville police responded to an unusual call: "There's someone dressed up as a man's private parts in front of the Pixar entrance." Police checked out the lone costumed picketer and left the scene to attend to the seminal work of crime fighting.
The individual seeking to gain Pixar's attention distributed business cards reading:
Pixar can you help?
We are a small innovative charity
hoping to inspire your support.
Can you help us?www.malecancer.org
The charity's website reveals that this is "Mr. Testicles" which is part
of the Male Cancer Awareness Campaign, which seeks to challenge the
"prevailing ‘culture of embarrassment’, that discourages men from
discussing and resolving problems related to intimate parts of their
body." The charity argues that "too many men die of prostate, bowel andtesticular cancer because they do not know how to detect the symptoms in
the early stages, when treatment would be more effective."
Perhaps the funniest call that the EPD will receive today might also be
their most important. Have you or the men in your life been screened?
The American Cancer Society provides guidelines on who should be
screened (and when) on their website:Prostrate Cancer:http://www.cancer.org/Healthy/FindCancerEarly/CancerScreeningGuidelines/american-cancer-society-guidelines-for-the-early-detection-of-cancer

Brian, do you think you are suppose to be the Emeryville Shock Jock?
ReplyDeleteThe articles you have been writing for the Tattler is increasingly vulgar and points blame on the citizens that live in Emeryville. The so called true stories basically are uncalled attacks in the same way as British gossip tabloids. The headings and finger pointing on these articles position themselves with some merit, but the overall opinions of this so called Journalistic material is basically disgusting. The titles alone are much worse than what is complained about.
Testicles, Poop or Get off the Pot, Drug user.. so on and so forth is plainly rotten and meaner to the readers than whom it is directed. Why must readers be subjected to this rude and absolutely nasty and bitchy behavior? Please take a very long look at yourself before pointing fingers.
Leave the Shock Jock to assholes living elsewhere.
Those with more puritan delicate sensibilities may wish to get their Emeryville news from the city's website. You may prefer it; there's very little there to be offended by, very little controversy. There, you'll find nothing about any misdeeds by any government or elected officials. Check out the city's website: it's rated OK even for the children.
ReplyDeleteif one admits to using drugs, doesn't that make one a "drug user?" what is so offensive about this? i admit to drinking coffee so that makes me a coffee drinker. i personally find the words "asshole" and "bitchy" offensive as well as people who are afraid to sign their names.
ReplyDeletethank you
Thank you for posting this article. My father passed away from complications caused by stage IV colon cancer. Had he known the early signs and not been embarrassed to seek treatment, he would be here today. Early stages of colon cancer IS curable.
ReplyDeleteI see the humor in the article and I suggest others do the same. The comments from folks like 'anonymous' are obvious, but at the same time detract from the real issue. Thanks for the entertainment!
Be kind to your colon, get it checked!
As a survivor and founder of the Testicular Cancer Society I appreciate you posting this. As a matter of fact post Mr. Testicles every day as far as I am concerned.
