EMERYVILLE -- A pedestrian suffered serious injuries after being struck by a truck carrying 
liquid nitrogen Friday morning, police said.
Officers responded to the crash around 8:30 a.m. on 53rd and Hollis Streets. The pedestrian, 
who has not been identified, was taken to a hospital. Their condition was not known Friday 
afternoon.
Police did not immediately say what caused the accident, or if the driver of the truck was detained.
