  1. Something is happening at Bay St right now. Lots of police cars with sirens and lights flashing. Someone set off a lot of fireworks just now. News copter overhead for about the last two hours.

  2. When MIT, Smithsonian, and the Club of Rome research institutions predicted, in 1974, that there would be a total collapse of the economy, the government, human health, and the environment, by 2022, and they tracked every year's increasing pollution and global disorganization, I was skeptical how such events could happen by 2022. I especially could not imagine how the population of the world would collapse to the numbers of 1900 (1.6 billion). Now, with Covid-19, the incredible amount of pollution and garbage we have created in all corners and seas of the earth, the acceleration of sea level rise, and the latent violence of humanity in every state and nation of the world, it becomes clear to me that MIT/Smithsonian/Club of Rome were right. The world is on a course of destruction and we are witness to it. The answer to this must come within our own
conscience and our daily human behavior. This is the Era of Reckoning... Do we conform to violence or heed the peace within our own conscience...?

    1. It's a good moment for Trump to put the ego on hold and speak to the country the way FDR used to, conveying reassurance and a sense that everybody counts.

    2. Should we hold our breath, waiting for him to do that?

    1. Why is it important to make that distinction? What are you trying to achieve? Seriously, what is your goal?

  5. No justice, no peace! No NAZI POLICE!

Separately, looting an electronics store is not being done for political reasons. Its a bad look.

  6. This had nothing to do with the death in Minneapolis. This is just using that as an excuse. Where were the police? And what about you? Why didn't you stop these thieves? Did you even call the police?

    1. About 60 or 70 police were a block away in the parking lot of the East Bay Bridge Mall. They were aware of the situation at Best Buy but they didn't move to stop it.

  7. I didn't go protect Best Buy because I don't GAF about big corporate stores like that. I do not agree with the looting and vandalism of small biz, robbing of innocents, or violence of any sort. And I agree that some use this as an opportunity to steal which isn't cool as it takes away from the protest and the real issue at hand. THE FACT IS .. these police killings need to stop! Blacks are disproportionately the victims. 100s of years of oppression will lead to this and until we treat all equal and shun those who practice bigotry and racism in our country, none of us have a future. What is happening may be necessary. This along with voting, the speaking out of influential people and organizations, and monetary and protest support are what is needed. This can't fly anymore and if you believe it should, you are on the wrong side of history. Speak up if you feel the same! And step aside if you don't. Now is the time people. Our President is a buffoon and gives us no united leadership in this time. He is not for all of us. speak up and please VOTE!!!
