Breaking: City Council Member to Quit Position
Christian Patz Will leave his position as City Council member. |
He indicated he will keep his home in Emeryville but he and his family will be moving to Redding where he will be Executive Director for Shasta County 's special education program. Mayor Dianne Martinez, after expressing she is "shocked and saddened" by the surprise announcement, stated future Council agenda items will address how the vacant position will be filled. She stated she expects there will be "no gaps" on the Council as a result of Council member Patz's leaving.
Will there be an election to replace him?
ReplyDeleteIt was not discussed last night but there will either be an appointment or a special election. Elections are expensive, usually over $100,000 for city the size of Emeryville so I imagine they will not want to spend that kind of money if it's not legally mandated.
DeletePutz is finally gone! We need to fight like hell to stop the progressive council from appointing a replacement. WE NEED AN ELECTION! TIME FOR DEMOCRACY IN EMERYVILLE!!!
ReplyDeleteHe will be sorely missed by E-ville residents. Wish him all the best in all his future endeavors.
ReplyDeleteHe was terrible for the school district. He ran against the parcel funding that's needed. And the Steve Dain thing was a gimmick, just for show. Another ego privileged white man putting himself at the center. He won't be missed.
ReplyDeleteTwo days later Rob finally does this story and he makes it about the Tattler. He still wants to call you out but he can't say the name of the Tattler or Brian Donahue. Rob is very frustrated by you still. He's pissed you came out with the story two days before he did.
