  1. John Bauters is obviously a career politician. If only he could do things that actually help people! Everything I've seen in his questionmable career in Emeryville has been debatedly self-serving, i,e, an electric scooter race (showing his ignorance of the countless enslaved children who dig for the cobault needed to make the batteries for electric scooters and their crippled hands and untold deaths from digging tunnels that collapse, burying them alive.); or his "Code of Ethics" that makes the City Council itself be judge and jury for their own offensive behavior; or how he sits idly by as his "Vice-Mayor" Courtney Welce, calls another councilman a "Fuck Boy"! Where was John Bauters when this was going on? Where was the voice of justice, of outrage? He is the mayor that represents us?

  2. Can he run for both the council and the board of supervisors?

    1. According to the the Secretary of State’s website, “no person may file nomination papers for more than one office at the same election.”
The primary election for the open Alameda County Board of Supervisors seat will be held on March 5, 2024. If no candidate receives more than 50% of the vote, the two top vote getters will be on the November 5, 2024 ballot. Candidates for the Emeryville City Council will also be on the November 5th General Election ballot.

  3. According to The Independent, “Alameda County was the only county in the Bay Area not to have any form of a whistleblower policy, including a way to make complaints and track them, along with protections for employees to make misconduct known without it affecting their jobs.” Bauters as Alameda Sup might consider the weak ethics code recently adopted by our City Council. The citizens’ county-wide complaints prove that input into adopting ANY COE is a must! Starting now, Emeryville needs to allow a “red team” to upgrade our new Code of Ethics because it is weak on oversight of our Councilpersons.

  4. John Bauters is the finest person to ever live in the State of California. I support him running for any office he may choose to honor us with his excellence.

  5. I just heard about this guy. He's bad news. Too many like him telling everybody how cool and hip and progressive he is only to turn around and drop all that when business want government help. These kind of politicians are only in it for themselves.
